Job Description

We are seeking a HSE Expert, who will be responsible for the preparation and implementation of programs, plans and objectives in the field of health, safety and the environment (hereinafter: HSE) at the location or country level, with the purpose of constantly improving health and safety at work, protecting the environment and thus ensuring sustainable business operations of the company.

Your key responsibilities: 

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Ensure effective support in preparation and execution of HSE programs, plans and objectives in line with legal requirements, Novartis internal standards and Site Development operating model.  

• Creates value by implementing greater efficiency and standardization in the deployment of HSE resources, processes and programs.

• Supports preparation and execution of HSE annual plan and provides regular, objective and evidence-based overview of the effectiveness of the implementation of the plan for respective HSE area.

• Conducts risk assessments and establish risk mitigation plans within the area of responsibility.  Evaluates and reports risks / findings / opportunities for improvement to relevant stakeholders to ensure that immediate actions or interim risk solutions are taken. Monitors overall execution of corrective and preventive actions and takes appropriate actions to ensure their implementation.

• Manages HSE external service providers in line with legal and internal Novartis standards.

• Supports timely response to safety incidents and emergency situations (NEM & BCM).

• Prepares HSE training plans and execute trainings for area of responsibility.

• Shares lessons learned, good practices and other useful information across the company.

What you will bring to the role: 

• University degree in safety management, environmental management or other technical or natural science degree.

• Occupational Safety and Health Certification desired. Fire Safety Certification desired.

• Advanced level in English is required.

• Knowledge of MS Office.

• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience related to HSE.
