Job Description

The Account Director – Market Intelligence role will support the expansion GfK’s POS Panel Market for Passenger Car & Light Truck (PLT) tires in the US.  Primary function centers around understanding, analyzing and utilizing GfK’s US Tire Industry POS data to identify and share areas of market opportunity with strategic clients and enable tracking its progress should they implement action plans.  Ideal candidate has working experience with any or all three of the following:

Tire Category Management either as retailer or manufacturer, including assortment planning, retail price strategies, and product screen design Drawing insights from POS data and converting it to actionable plans Client facing experience (Communication, Presentation, and Collaboration)

This role will manage multiple client and partner relationships, including maintaining and growing existing business through consistent engagement and insightful analysis of tire industry sellout data.  Also be responsible to support existing retail partners with analysis and insights into their markets with the goal of becoming a trusted advisor to your clients.

How you will make an impact: 

  • Communicate using POS Tracking data to the Tire industry, while demonstrating how it can support decisions.
  • Provide analytics and communicate insights that align with the client’s business issues.
  • Synthesize data and simplify findings to solve client business issues.
  • Work with internal and external partners on new analytics initiatives
  • Collaborate with Sr. Leaders on new product initiatives

Ideal candidate will bring the following:  

  • Team player who can work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in the tire industry
  • Experience with a PLT Tires Retailer or Manufacturer
  • Experience in a client-facing role 
  • Ability to provide analytics and communicate insights that align with the client’s business issues
  • Ability to manage simultaneous requests (multi-task; Strong organization skills, etc.)
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, and other analytical tools
