Role Purpose:
As a Software Developer on the GTech Platform team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software features and components to ensure the continued success of the platform. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and performant solutions that meet evolving business needs and provide exceptional value to our customers.
Key Results Areas
- Relationship Management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements, prioritize tasks, and integrate your work into the overall system architecture.
- Contribute to team projects as needed, such as writing automated tests or improving infrastructure.
- Provide technical support to team members where it is need.

- Design, develop, and maintain software features and components of the GTech platform.

Major Challenges
- Designing, developing, and maintaining software features and components of the GTech platform that meet high-quality standards, are scalable, maintainable, and performant.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, QA, and other development teams, to ensure a shared understanding of requirements, priorities, and timelines.
- Balancing competing project priorities and managing deadlines effectively while maintaining high levels of quality in your work.
- Debugging and resolving complex issues that may arise during the development process or in production environments, requiring a deep understanding of the underlying technology stack and the ability to think creatively to find solutions.
Skills & Qualifications
- Tertiary Qualification in a business-related discipline or equivalent experiential background.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in the GTech stack (such as Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.).
- Strong foundation in algorithms, data structures, software architecture, and system design principles.
- Experience working on projects using Agile methodologies, such as Scrum or Kanban.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git, as well as Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand complex requirements and develop solutions accordingly.
- Excellent communication abilities for collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Passion for continuous learning and keeping up-to-date on the latest technologies, libraries, and tools.
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly and adapt to changing requirements.
