About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Tanzu Engineer (with a Top Secret Security Clearance) for a short-term, remote, consulting engagement. The primary goal is to assist our client in migrating a desktop-based application from an on-premises server to a cloud-based Tanzu environment, ensuring seamless transition, performance, and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Verify network connectivity and install a 48-core server on-site.
  • Assess and prepare the current desktop-based application (using MongoDB) for migration.
  • Determine and set up the required Kubernetes (K8s) systems.
  • Install and configure the VMware ESXi hypervisor.
  • Develop and execute a detailed migration plan to a government cloud-based instance.
  • Set up and configure Tanzu Management and Workload Clusters.
  • Host the application on a secure platform, ensuring compliance with security standards.
  • Perform load testing and ensure client connections are maintained and secured during and after migration.
  • Provide detailed documentation, including migration reports, security measures, and setup guides.

Qualifications

  • Top Secret Clearance (TS Clearance) required
  • Proven experience in cloud-based application migration, especially with Tanzu environments.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes (K8s) systems and VMware ESXi hypervisor.
  • Strong background in CI/CD pipeline integration and source code management.
  • Experience with MongoDB and VM development environments.
  • Knowledge of regulatory security standards and obtaining an Authority to Operate (ATO).
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
