Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Manager, Financial Reporting will be responsible for preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements, preparation of annual budgets, review of monthly variance analysis and review and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations. They will also be responsible for reviewing and posting month end accruals and the month-end close process.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing, reviewing and preparing: 
    1. quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with ASPE
    2. accurate, complete and timely month-end Financial Reporting Package
    3. accurate and complete journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and compile the annual corporate budget and assist with reviewing operational budgets
  • Responsible for reviewing monthly consolidated budget to actual variance analysis and investigation of significant variances.
  • Coordinate and manage annual audit process
  • Provide support to the organization by a preparing ad hoc financial modelling
  • Lead the Financial Reporting Team and work together as a team to provide a high level of support and service to the organization
    1. Coordinate and coach 2+ staff members
  • Set short and long-term goals that support the Financial Reporting Team and Finance strategy

Requirements

  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA)
  • Minimum of 2 years post designation experience in financial reporting, including financial statement preparation
  • Proficient in excel
  • Experience managing or coordinating staff
  • Exposure to acquisitions and/or system integrations is considered an asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Must be a self-starter and comfortable working in an autonomous environment
