Overview:

Job Summary: 

 

The Vice President Finance Operations leads all operational finance functions of the company, and is a key leadership role within the finance department, responsible for overseeing and optimizing various financial operations to drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Reporting directly to the CFO, the VP of Finance Operations will play a critical role in shaping and executing the financial strategy of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in finance operations management, with a demonstrated track record of implementing and executing process improvements and control enhancements. 

  

Essential Duties and Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Manages and carries out the personnel actions for direct reports, including but not limited to hiring and scheduling; training and evaluating; coaching and managing performance; making salary, merit, or other compensation recommendations for team of direct reports; and making recommendations and/or taking corrective or disciplinary action as appropriate.  
  • Order-to-Cash: Partner with IT and Client Service to streamline and enhance the order-to-cash process to optimize and standardize billing and collection processes to improve working capital, reduce bad debt and improve client satisfaction.
  • Procure-to-Pay: Oversee the procure-to-pay process, including vendor management, procurement, purchase order, and payment processing, to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with company policies.
  • Payroll: Manage payroll operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee compensation, tax withholdings, and benefits administration.
  • Subledger Close: Oversee the timely and accurate subledger close process, ensuring that all financial transactions are properly recorded and reconciled in accordance with US GAAP standards.
  • Operational Reporting: Lead the development and distribution of operational financial reports to provide insights into key performance metrics and drive decision-making across the organization.
  • Program Management: Ownership of corporate travel and expense policies, corporate credit card program and expense reimbursement procedures.
  • Enterprise Project Management: Evaluate, develop, and execute process and control improvement opportunities across the organization.

Required Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA, CPA, or Lean Six Sigma certifications preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in finance operations management, with a proven track record of success.
  • Knowledge of risk management principles and practices to identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks.
  • Ability to lead and manage change initiatives related to financial operations, such as organizational restructuring, process reengineering, or system implementations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial systems and processes, as well as regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong accounting background coupled with deep understanding of finance back-office processes. 
  • Comfortable leading a large team and presenting regularly to members of the executive management team. 
  • Work requires normal range of hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills, with or without reasonable 
  • Must be able to use a telephone or headset equipment and operate a keyboard and other office equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation. 
  • Must be able to spend prolonged periods of each workday on the phone
  • The ability to perform work at a computer station for 6-8+ hours a day and function in an environment with frequent interruptions is required. 
  • At times, subject to sitting for prolonged periods. 
  • May experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.

 

Travel Requirements and Conditions: 

  • Moderate travel may be required (15-20%).

 

Salary Range: $170,000.00 To $220,00.00 / year
