Knowledge Manager

Job Description Summary:

This position will provide oversight, governance, processes, and procedures to

ensure a robust and effective knowledge management (KM) culture and

environment. This individual must have strong communication and relationshipbuilding skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment where cross-functional

leadership is key to solving complex problems. This position will function as the

guide and champion of the organization's KM approach, ensuring alignment of

KM initiatives to the organization’s mission and objectives.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Knowledge Management Ownership
  • Lead the development of a knowledge strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the organization’s values, mission, and objectives
  • Serve as owner, expert, and advocate of Sourcewell knowledge management systems, tools, applications, and processes
  • Utilize existing tools, applications, and resources to improve knowledge management framework
  • Works with other KM team business-unit representatives and business-unit leadership to establish a common understanding and integration of KM with business-unit strategy
  • Facilitate content and knowledge gap analysis and lead efforts to create content and transfer knowledge to address gaps
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on knowledge management principles, tools, and techniques
  • Partner with Sourcewell team members including KM business-unit representatives to transfer knowledge to content and ensure it is stored in the correct environment
  • Monitor and analyze knowledge management metrics and performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of knowledge management initiatives and identify areas for improvement
  • Content Management Ownership
  • Serve as owner, expert, and advocate of Sourcewell content lifecycle systems, tools, applications, and processes
  • Establish and enforce content governance standards, including version control, approval workflows, and archiving policies
  • Leads auditing approach to ensure compliance to governance standards.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on content management principles, tools, and techniques
  • Monitor and analyze content management metrics and performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of content management and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborates with IT to ensure organization technology adheres to and supports content management governance
  • Mentors, and supports content management power user group
  • Performs the duties of content and information manager for the Sourcewell SharePoint environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Additional Job Description:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field AND a minimum of four (4) years experience in information management and/or knowledge management OR A combination of related post-secondary and/or professional education and demonstrated relevant work experience in information systems and/or knowledge management equivalent to a total of eight (8) years
  • Experience with knowledge management tools and technologies, including content management systems, intranets, collaboration platforms, and document management systems
  • Meeting facilitation and presentation experience
  • Strong understanding of knowledge management principles, methodologies, and best practices

In addition to those minimum requirements listed above, the Senior Knowledge Manager requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field AND a minimum of nine (9) years experience in information management and/or knowledge management
  • A combination of related post-secondary and/or professional education and demonstrated relevant work experience in information systems and/or knowledge management equivalent to a total of thirteen (13) years
  • Extensive experience with knowledge management tools and technologies, including content management systems, intranets, collaboration platforms, and document management systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Knowledge Manager (CKM), Knowledge-Centered Service (KCS) certified, or Knowledge Management certificate

Salary Range:

  • Knowledge Manager, Grade 11, $78,972.64 - $110,561.69 per fiscal year, commensurate with experience.
  • Senior Knowledge Manager, Grade 13, $90,415.78 - $126,582.07 per fiscal year, commensurate with experience.
