Job Description Summary:

This role involves managing, enhancing, and streamlining access to reduce barriers to the funding portal. The role includes reviewing and improving funding criteria while maintaining knowledge of member needs. Responsibilities involve leading support for Region 5 members by ensuring easy access to funding programs, providing educational resources, and conducting regular member account reviews. Additionally, the position requires maintaining data accuracy standards and implementing strategic plans in collaboration with the Community Solutions team.

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages funding program design and portal accessibility, in partnership with advisory councils and member engagement initiatives to reduce Region 5 member barriers.
  • Reviews funding programs to suggest eligibility criteria improvements, clearer language, and ongoing enhancements.
  • Proactively maintains deep knowledge of all member requests, emergent needs, and challenges.
  • Collaborates seamlessly with internal and external subject matter experts to assess the impact of funding options and enhance community relationships.
  • Helps to identify gaps in member usage of the funding portal.
  • Writes and distributes recommendations for funding program design and portal accessibility.
  • Utilizes appropriate tools to curate and maintain an understanding of internal and external stakeholders that shape member usage of funding programs.
  • Answers member inquiries efficiently related to funding program design and portal accessibility and ensures smooth operations and clear communication.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders to identify and address member needs related to portal navigation and accessibility.
  • Develops and leads specialized Region 5 member support to improve funding program design and portal accessibility.
  • Ensures regional members can easily access funding options by creating streamlined processes.
  • Provides one-on-one consultations, workshops, and resources to improve understanding of the funding portal, raise application quality, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Conducts annual reviews of member accounts to update information and maintain access.
  • Provides troubleshooting assistance for funding program content and portal accessibility.
  • Evaluates member engagement initiatives to improve funding program design and portal accessibility.
  • Creates community relations calendar with key dates and events for local governments, nonprofits, and public safety to leverage awareness of funding programs and portal usage.
  • Serves as the primary link between regional members' needs and technical improvements related to funding program design and portal accessibility.
  • Actively seeks, captures, and promotes user stories via stakeholder interviews, focus groups, and case studies.
  • Monitors outreach and engagement efforts to tie funding access to member engagement strategy.
  • Joins in member engagement and community events to grasp regional dynamics and build stakeholder relationships.
  • Provides advisory on community relations related to funding program design and portal accessibility, using best practices and consistent methods.
  • Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to quality, accuracy, and consistency, ensuring strict adherence to data accuracy. Proactively suggests additions to communication tools, like frequently asked questions, office hours, and additions to the organizational knowledge base. Compiles quantitative and qualitative data as it relates to funding program design and portal accessibility. Coordinates with marketing to enhance messaging, build community relations, and promote community impacts.
  • Research legislative trends and resource programs that align with community needs and strategic goals.
  • Represent Sourcewell at industry conferences as a speaker, vendor, or attendee.
  • Travel regularly to regional cities, counties, townships, nonprofits, and state associations to understand and represent the voices of Region 5 members effectively.
  • Provide regular feedback to the Director of Resources and Development on strategy implementation and future planning.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Description:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field AND two (2) years of experience in a local government, nonprofit, or public safety setting
  • A combination of post-secondary training, professional education, and related experience equivalent to six (6) years.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Salesforce CRM and other technology platforms, like Cvent, Wrike, and Microsoft 365. Demonstrated understanding of the dynamics of local governments, nonprofits, and public safety.

  • Established regional relationships across local government, nonprofits, and public safety.
  • Advanced proficiency in Salesforce CRM and other technology platforms, like Cvent, Wrike, and Microsoft 365.

Salary Range:

  • Community Engagement Specialist, Grade 6, $58,754.51 - $76,380.88 per fiscal year, commensurate with experience.

Location:

  • This is a remote position, within Minnesota, and is subject to Sourcewell's telecommuting policies and procedures. Applicants should be located within feasible proximity to the counties we serve.
  • Region 5 includes: Todd, Wadena, Crow Wing, Cass and Morrison counties.
  • You must be able to commute throughout the region at least 3 days a week, and be available for some evening meetings.
