Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.


CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an experienced C5ISR Ground Forces Business Development Manager for the Defense Electronics (DE) Business Area which includes our Platform Technologies and Integrated Network Solutions businesses.  The position will pursue new opportunities and is responsible for the formulation of strategy and business development activities for ground C5ISR and Network initiatives at GDMS, including cultivating key U.S Government customers, developing and leading capture teams for new programs and business ventures, managing investment funds, and leading the development of long-range strategic plans. The candidate must thrive in an environment of responsibility for the management and execution of the full BD life-cycle process across multiple simultaneous pursuits and proposals. The position reports to the DE Strategy and Business Development Director in the Land and Air Systems Line of Business.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS: 

  • Identifies and captures new business opportunities in the C5ISR market.
  • Maintains key business development contacts with current and potential customers
  • Evaluates and manages new business opportunities, initiatives, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures
  • Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs
  • Serves as capture manager for assigned opportunities
  • Defines vision, strategies, and tactics for assigned business development opportunities
  • Advises higher management on status or action required in connection with existing and potential business development opportunities
  • Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements, responsible for budgets
  • Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives
  • Directs the development of short- and long-range objectives and recommends goals to higher management

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 

  • Adept at all facets of business development and capture
  • Supports creation of business strategies and business cases for growth
  • Demonstrates understanding of business strategies and technical issues as they relate to business growth
  • Significant knowledge of missions, products and technologies including current and future applications
  • Able to articulate examples of having identified, pursued and won medium to large capture efforts in areas related to GDMS business
  • Significant understanding of specific areas within assigned market, to include budgets, customer priorities, mission gaps and market dynamics
  • Maintains a significant knowledge of government contracting and acquisition practices
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration and leadership skills
  • Responsible for establishing and achieving operational objectives for area of responsibility
  • Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
  • Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers
  • Leads briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives
  • Share knowledge, skills, and understanding with others across the business
  • Senior management reviews objectives to determine success of operation
  • Decisions have an extended impact on work processes and outcomes
  • Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing

PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years of direct C5ISR Ground Capture and Strategy and Business Development experience in the DoD/Federal Marketplace
  • Army or Marine Corps Military experience with knowledge in Combat Vehicles or C5ISR areas
  • Commercial technology experience is desired
  • Technical Degree is desired
  • Must be able to travel 25% of the time
  • Position can be remote and be selected in Employee Workspace Plan

 

Salary Note: This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled. Combined Salary Range: USD $164,314.00 - USD $177,792.00 /Yr. Company Overview:
