Your missions

Overview:

BerryDunn is looking for a Proposal Writer to support proposal activities within our growing Business Development Team. As an ideal candidate, you should bring effective written and oral communication skills, strong attention to detail, an ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines, drive and a success-oriented mindset, a proactive and adaptive work style, and a passion for working on a team. It is also preferred that you have experience with proposal writing, an understanding of procurement processes, and knowledge of the professional services industry. This position reports to the Cohort Lead and Director of Business Development.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in developing compelling, compliant, and responsive proposals that effectively convey win themes to clients and prospects and are of high quality
  • Work collaboratively with the proposal leads, firm leadership, subject matter experts, compliance, and support functions to meet strict deadlines
  • Analyze solicitation documents and provide direction to the team regarding proposal outlines, response requirements, and proposal development schedules
  • Refine and develop proposal and related business development content
  • Work on multiple solicitations simultaneously at different stages with different stakeholders in the proposal process while effectively managing and adhering to strict deadlines
  • Participate in planning and debrief meetings and document outcomes
  • Conduct research regarding specific opportunities and the competitive landscape
  • Support management and maintenance of the sales pipeline and proposal development process using various tools (e.g.  Loopio, Salesforce, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook)
  • Review and update proposal content on a continuous basis to help ensure accuracy and relevancy
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities through research and monitoring of relevant purchasing sites and subscription tools
  • Support proposal delivery and production activities as needed
  • Occasionally attend and assist in preparing for industry events, meetings, and conferences
  • Limited travel may be required (less than 10%) 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or related area or equivalent work experience
  • 1 to 3 years of experience developing proposals, preferably in a professional services environment; alternative experience can be 2-3 years of professional, technical, or marketing writing
  • Excellent writing, editing, organization, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to collaborate with traveling and/or remote team members, often across time zones
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Proven ability and comfort level working effectively in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and strict deadlines both independently and as a team member
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Customer service attitude
  • Innovative in solving problems and finding information
  • Proficiency in internet research
  • Proficiency in MS Office (0365) programs including Word, Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to use built-in styles and develop clean, well-formatted documents
  • Writing samples representing high quality work
  • Preferred: Familiarity and/or experience with design applications such as InDesign and Publisher 
Compensation Details:

The base salary range targeted for this role is $58,000 - $65,000 a year. This salary range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications in excess of the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
