Job Summary:
Aptive is searching for an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to support one of our VA projects. These positions are contingent hires based on customer approval.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Clound Network Engineer will support Aptive in testing VA applications in the cloud environments, focus on IPv6 readiness. The primary responsibilities include detailed analysis of COTS, GOTS, and custom applications and how they should be testing in an lab environment to determine if the applicaiton will work in an IPv6 only environment. Futher, after planning and then testing, creating detailed test artifacts than may include detailed suggestions for alternatives or updating the application to work in an IPv6 only environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, robust communicator, and critical thinker.
Minimum Qualifications:
Cloud Expertise:
• In-depth knowledge of AWS (Amazon Web Services) and Azure services and their networking components.
• Experience with cloud network architecture and design.
Networking Fundamentals:
• Strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and subnetting.
• Proficiency in IPv4 and IPv6 networking.
Operating Systems:
• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows server and / or Linux system administration
Security:
• Understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Experience with configuring firewalls, security groups, NACLs, and VPNs in both AWS and Azure.
• Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) in cloud environments.
Automation and Scripting:
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as AWS CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, and Terraform.
Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
• Skills in monitoring network performance and troubleshooting network issues using cloud-native tools (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
• Familiarity with network diagnostic tools such as Wireshark.
