Newtek Merchant Solutions (NMS) is a key part of NewtekOne , processing over $5 billion in annual payments for over ten thousand customers. Our ability to offer multi-platform solutions allows us to provide the latest technology in payments processing to our merchant customers and partners.

NMS is seeking a passionate business development professional to grow the ISV/VAR sales channel meeting management's expectations. Recruit, train, and manage sales agents. Engage with inactive partners and identify specific partners of interest based on residual and historical submission reporting. Attend regional shows and recruit new business. Schedule and lead demos of Newtek Merchant Solutions offerings. Collaborate with Marketing to update product and offering content for social media or other campaign efforts. Use a consultative selling approach; cross-sell other Newtek business service solutions to new or existing merchant(s).

  • Qualifications include but not limited to:
  • College degree and a minimum of 5 years of related business experience in the credit card industry.
  • Must have merchant services/payments sales experience.
  • Customer focused and highly motivated to succeed in a performance driven environment.
  • Strong knowledge of the merchant processing and credit card processing industry and related products.
  • Excellent client relationships skills with the ability to build long-term relationships.
  • Demonstrated success interacting with people by phone, leading, persuading and overcoming obstacles associated with prospecting.
  • Established sales, business development and negotiation skills.
  • Proven track record of aggressive sales growth.
  • Ability to identify, address and resolve ISV/VAR related issues.
  • Solid decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess strong professional oral, written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Active listening and strong organizational skills.
  • Strong follow-through skills and ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Proficient in windows-based computer applications (Microsoft Office) and internal systems such Newtracker, One System, and external systems such Salesforce, etc.
  • Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Prospect, sale, execute, support, train, develop and retain to continue to build and develop a large channel of ISV (Independent Software Vendors) & VAR partners (Value Added Resellers).
  • Make outbound calls to new, past inactive partners and follow ups with actively engaged (i.e., work from list of 2500+partners that are on file, identify specific partners of interest based on residual and historical submission reporting).
  • Manage the onboarding relationship with new partners and internal teams to ensure successful integration and a foundation of future success.
  • Become an expert in all Newtek products and solutions.
  • Schedule and lead demos of our solutions (i.e., track demo schedule and report to SVP monthly)
  • Work collaboratively with Newtek sales team to identify key opportunities, develop sales forecasts, and remove potential obstacles.
  • Educate partner ISV/VAR and sales teams on Newtek products, programs, promotions, pricing and sales campaigns.
  • Meet weekly with marketing to update product and offering content for social media or other campaign efforts (i.e., create and refresh content of solutions, shows and conference planning - compile list of industries show that would be beneficial to attend).
  • Conduct quarterly and ad-hoc partner business reviews to ensure aligned with objectives.
  • Report proactively on your own activity in weekly meetings with your manager.
  • Regularly report on partner achievements and assigned metrics.
  • Make recommendations regarding channel partner program tools, incentives, and go-to-market messaging.
  • Negotiate Schedule A's with new partner prospects.
  • Establish relationships; train and manage all new ISV/ VAR prospects.
  • Participate positively and constructively with staff in handling all business issues.
  • Maintain a courteous, helpful, and professional manner with agents.
  • Achieve growth goals as defined by management and in the budget.
  • Consult with management in formulating a sales and marketing strategy.
  • Attend regional shows and recruit new business.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to drive and close new business alongside the channel partner.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 to $120,000 per year.
