The mission of a Platform Engineer is to take ownership in setting up and maintaining of tooling and services on the data platform.
You will be part of Data Office which is an international cross-functional team, that combines:
Data Governance;
Data Lake;
Data Warehouse;
Data Science.
What we offer:
The Data Office is international, and cross-functional team, combining Business Intelligence, Pricing Management, Data Science, and Software Development;
Working within Agile SCRUM Methodologies and the Atlassian toolchain (JIRA, Confluence, Git);
To build our state-of-the-art cloud data warehouse, we use Python, Java, BigQuery SQL, other Google Cloud Platform services such as Cloud Build, Data transfers, Workflows, Schedulers and Functions;
Making use of dbt Cloud, Terraform & CDKTF and Data Modelling Tools;
You will get deep insights into the work at an international wholesaler being in the middle of the digital transformation, you can contribute and make a real impact;
And a lot of freedom to initiate new ideas and develop these further.
Who are you?
What will help you be successful in this role?
2+ years of experience as a DevOps, SRE, Platform, or Cloud Engineer.
2+ years of expertise managing cloud infrastructure and security (with GCP).
2+ years working with Terraform.
Background in software development (Java/Python).
Proficiency in setting up CI/CD.
Affinity working with git (3+ years).
Nice to have:
- dbt Cloud
- Striim
- Collibra
What will keep you busy?
Lead SRE Strategy: Strengthen the company's foundation and direction in SRE strategy, utilizing various GCP products and innovative practices.
Cloud Management: Ensure effective and secure use of the cloud, automating infrastructure needs, testing, and failover solutions.
Technical Collaboration: Evolve the platform's technical foundation by mentoring product teams in DevOps practices and improving CI/CD processes.
Service Reliability: Enhance the reliability, resilience, and incident response of services, working closely with internal partners.
Problem Solving: Debug complex problems across the stack and provide solid solutions to improve infrastructure skills and performance.
