BI Engineer (Outside IR35)

About the role:

Billigence is looking for a two BI Engineer to join us on a project with one of our finance sector clients. This will be an initial 3-month engagement, Outside IR35. The role involves transforming very manual processes, predominantly using Excel and pivot tables, into streamlined, automated solutions.

What you’ll do:

• Precisely capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements, including health, safety, security, usability, data, and supportability considerations.
• Develop and implement BI solutions using Power BI with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and SQL for both front-end and back-end processes.
• Translate business requirements into functionality and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options.
• Assess and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand the current value and issues, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep updated to align with the solution over the project lifecycle.
• Ensure traceability of requirements from business needs and requirements, through testing and scope changes, to the final solution.
• Configure and document software and processes, using agreed standards and tools.
• Create and present compelling business cases to justify solution value and establish approval, funding, and prioritization.
• Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control BI Engineering activities on projects within agreed parameters of cost, time, and quality.

What you'll need:

• Proven experience as a BI Engineer, with expertise in Power BI, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and SQL.
• Experience with Azure stack, including lift and shift methodologies.
• Strong background in transforming manual processes and providing comprehensive insights to other lines of business, such as sales, to achieve a 360-degree view of the client.
• Experience in managing debt, predicting insolvency, and servicing customers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise between business and technical teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Ability to handle challenging customer stakeholders
