Overview

The SDK team provides the core foundational features for our games. This role covers the development and engineering of our publishing ecosystem for client authentication, compliance, telemetry, purchasing, and user acquisition attribution. It provides a consistent, compliant, and stable platform for mobile game development that actively supports our existing portfolio while accelerating all new game development. We collaborate with internal and partner studios around the world to publish the best casual games.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced engineer to take our SDK to the next level by updating our core technology, improving development workflow, and extending functionality so game developers can focus on making great games. The SDK itself consists of Unity C#, Android Java / Kotlin, iOS Objective-C/Swift, and is the backbone of all titles published by Big Fish Games.

As a Mobile Applications QA Engineer, you will work with a product manager, engineering manager, Dev team to validate the various functions for Android and iOS, ensuring that our portfolio of casual games is up to date in the stores and our customers can continue playing. Our aim is to make automation the primary way we test and validate our SDK releases.

What You'll Do

  • Author test automation for integration and UI testing using Appium and other tools..

  • Manually test integration points on Android and iOS devices.

  • Document test strategy, test plans, and test cases in Confluence, and Test Rail

  • Collaborate with our development team, product managers, and fellow QA to run the test effort, and ensure quality, and meet our on-time delivery requirements.

What We're Looking For

Required Skills

  • Experience in Mobile Application Testing: A proven track record in Android and iOS. 

  • Experience automating tests across unit, integration, system, functional, and non functional cases.

  • Unity game engine experience - our games are based on Unity and experience testing in that framework ensures we deliver high-quality games.

  • Professional experience in using a test framework (Appium, XCUITest) to accomplish API, integration, and UI automation on mobile devices.

  • Test case management and documentation and bug reporting - experience using Test Rail, jira, or other standard test case management and execution tools. Documenting Test Plans and Test Strategy.

  • IDEs and platform specific environments - professional experience working with Android Studio, Xcode, and/or Unity Editor. 

  • API Testing: previous experience testing apis and programmatic interfaces of services or applications. 

Nice-To-Have 

  • Experience with Jenkins or other tools for CICD pipelines.

  • Charles proxy or other tools for API and network debugging on mobile devices

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science

Required Soft-Skills

  • Team collaboration - Experience with development and delivery in a remote and geographically distributed team. 

  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical summaries and priorities to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
