About The Role

The Director of Communications is pivotal in shaping and disseminating MSA’s brand message across all platforms. This role involves developing and managing the execution of a comprehensive multi-channel communication strategy that ensures consistency, brand integrity, and maximum engagement with both internal and external stakeholders. The Director of Communications will oversee content creators/editors/executors, graphic designer and video production within the Marketing department, guiding the creation of high-quality content that supports business growth and enhances MSA’s reputation. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional leadership skills and the ability to adapt strategies in response to market trends and company objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Unified Brand Voice

Develop and maintain a unified and consistent brand voice, ensuring brand integrity across all platforms.

Multi-Channel Strategy

Establish and manage a robust multi-channel communications strategy to enhance MSA’s reach and engagement across digital, social media, video, and print platforms.

Comprehensive Communication Strategy

Collaborate with key departments to develop a comprehensive communication strategy that provides consistent, compelling messaging to members, employers, and partners.

Content Creation Oversight

Oversee the creation and curation of written content, digital media, social media posts, video scripts, audio materials, sales collateral, and education decks/presentation notes. Provide guidance and constructive feedback to the marketing writer to ensure high-quality, persuasive content., and manage the overall process and systems for project/content management.

SEO and Engagement Optimization

Work with the marketing team to optimize content for SEO, readability, and user engagement, enhancing the effectiveness of MSA’s digital presence.

Performance Metrics Analysis

Analyze communication performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.

Qualifications And Experience

Educational Background

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

Professional Experience

5-7 years of marketing and communications experience, preferably in a leadership role within a small to mid-sized business.

Proven Success

Demonstrated success in developing and executing communication strategies that drive engagement and achieve business goals.

Team Leadership

Experience in leading and motivating a team to produce high-quality content.

Technical Proficiency

Proficiency with digital communication platforms, marketing automation, content management systems, and analytics tools. Familiarity with SEO best practices and social media management tools.

Industry Knowledge

Understanding of the financial well-being sector or related industries is advantageous.

Working Context

  • This is a full-time remote position, with occasional travel for team meetings
  • Flexibility to work across different time zones as needed to collaborate with national teams
