About the Position

The Director of Clinical Medical Assistants (CMA) is a key leadership role within our healthcare organization, responsible for overseeing the CMA team, providing training and mentorship to new managers, and ensuring the efficient and effective operation of clinical services. The Director of CMA will play a pivotal role in managing personnel issues, promoting a positive work environment, and ensuring high standards of patient care.This position requires a combination of clinical and administrative work, with the expectation of being on-site at the healthcare facility. Some travel may be required for training and development programs


Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

  • Lead, supervise, and support the CMA team to ensure optimal performance and job satisfaction.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and evaluation of CMA staff.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging open communication and continuous improvement.

Training and Mentorship:

  • Guide CMA training managers in developing and implementing comprehensive training programs for new CMA managers.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and professional development opportunities for CMA managers.
  • Ensure all team members are well-versed in clinical protocols, administrative procedures, and best practices.

Personnel Management:

  • Address and resolve personnel issues promptly and effectively.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and retention.

Clinical Operations:

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Oversee the implementation and adherence to clinical protocols and procedures.
  • Monitor and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of clinical services.

Quality Assurance and Improvement:

  • Collaborate with CMA QA specialists to develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess team performance and patient outcomes.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and service delivery.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in clinical practices and integrate relevant changes into the team’s operations.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Act as a liaison between the CMA team and other departments within the organization.
  • Facilitate effective communication channels to ensure alignment with organizational goals and policies.
  • Represent the CMA team in meetings and contribute to strategic planning and decision-making processes.


Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, nursing, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Certifications: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required. Additional management or leadership certifications are a plus.
  • Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage and resolve personnel issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical protocols and healthcare regulations.
