How You’ll Contribute

As a DevOps Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for deploying, managing, and monitoring mission critical cloud infrastructure and applications in support of Variable Annuities Asset Liability Management (VA ALM) platform IT solution owners, VA ALM developers and an internal team of citizen developers. You will have the opportunity to mentor junior DevOps engineers and will be expected to regularly review cloud spending, implement cost-saving strategies, and document processes, architectures, and best practices.

In This Role, You’ll Get To

  • Collaborate with IT solution owners, clients and developers throughout the product development process.
  • Participate in an agile development environment adhering to DevSecOps principals and best
  • Practices.
  • Work with the DevOps team members build, automate, and manage cloud infrastructure in an Azure environment.
  • Build and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development, testing, and delivery process.
  • Design, deploy and maintain Kubernetes clusters.
  • Implement centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions while proactively monitoring system health, respond to incidents, and improve observability.
  • Ensure all infrastructure and applications comply with BHF security standards and best practices.
  • Plan and implement disaster recovery strategies, including backups, failovers, and redundancy and regularly conduct DR drills to ensure our systems can recover from failures.
  • Lead the VA ALM DataOps efforts by evaluating and utilizing the latest technologies and tools.

We’re Looking For People Who Have

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
  • 7+ years of related experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • The ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
  • A strong knowledge of Linux and cloud technologies (Azure).
  • Experience with Openshift or other container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes).
  • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code (Ansible / Terraform).
  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Kibana, Datadog).
  • The ability to build and maintain pipelines (CI/CD) using Gitlab.
  • Experience with Python, Golang and Java languages.
  • Experience using GitOps tools such as ArgoCD is a plus.
  • Experience with Scala and Akka is a plus.
  • Experience with PowerBI is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of databases (Postgres, SQL Server, Cassandra) and streaming technologies (Kafka).

  • Compensation – Base salary ranging from $145,000 to $170,000 plus competitive performance-based incentives determined by company and individual results.
