Compensation Range: $75-85k per year

Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience.

Job Description

The Clinical Documentation and Training Specialist requires effective communication and coordination with the Chief Operating Officer, VP Operations, Operations Leaders, and treatment team to ensure patients receive quality care. The Specialist serves as the liaison between treatment team and different departments. The individual in this position has overall responsibility for ensuring clinical documentation aligns with joint commission and payer requirements and trains facilities based on monthly statistics and needs.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provide ongoing clinical documentation trainings to ensure charts are aligned with insurance company and joint commission guidelines.
  • Direct oversight over new company-wide initiatives as they relate to clinical documentation and clinical training.
  • Ensure teams have a clear understanding of KPI’s
  • Develop and implement a Performance Improvement tracking system, evaluate the results monthly, and report results to the Monthly Operational Review meetings.
  • Ensure that all deficiencies identified through the performance improvement analysis are addressed with appropriate problem-solving actions.
  • Collect data on missed billable opportunities, analyze facility specific data, and train teams
  • Train and oversee staff on decreasing unplanned discharges and implementing interventions
  • Review all aspects of care, ensuring optimal length of stay
  • Review the quality of documentation provided at all levels of care to assure adequacy and clinical appropriateness.
  • Involve appropriate facility management in all decisions and review these decisions with COO, VPO prior to implementation.
  • Assure adequate supervision and evaluation processes for all staff members and delegate these responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Ensure an adequate system of communication and reporting is maintained between all staff members, as well as other departments involved in the ongoing operation of the program.

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree preferred but not required
  • Licensed LMFT, LCSW, LVN, or RN preferred but not required
  • Strong knowledge of insurance and joint commission guidelines
