We are currently seeking a Sales and Application Specialist (m/f/d) - High-End Life Science (Direct Sales) Region South & East of France plus French part of Switzerland.

Vos missions

  • The Application Specialist role requires that you work closely together with the European Life Science Sales Team (Territory Managers and Senior Sales Specialists).
  • You are responsible for driving the sales process for high-end life science microscopy systems in your territory (South and East of France plus French speaking parts of Switzerland).
  • During the sales process you will have meetings with customers to present our product portfolio and you will organize and perform in a convincing way onsite system demonstrations as well as remote demonstrations, providing your expert knowledge to solve customers’ applications and issues.
  • The product portfolio mainly consists of confocal laser scan microscopes, spinning disk and TIRF microscopes, light sheet and SMLM systems.
  • You are responsible for achieving the agreed sales target for your territory as well as a team target.
  • As a Sales and Application Specialist for High End Life Science Systems, you are - together with Sales Management - responsible for observing market trends and proposing and developing strategic sales activities to further develop our business and success in the market.
  • The following activities – among others – will help you to achieve your goals:
  • Driving the sales process for high-end life science solutions in your territory.
  • Managing, organizing and conducting all customer touch points during the sales process (incl. for example customer meetings, system demonstrations, workshops, closing meetings etc.).
  • You will be travelling within your territory 60-80% of your time.
  • Cooperating in a very close way with senior sales specialists and other sales and application specialists in Europe, especially for your demo and workshop activities.
  • Providing help to colleagues outside your territory (travel to other countries in Europe represents approximately 10-20% of your travel time).
  • Conducting lectures and training at customer events.
  • Participating in local exhibitions.
  • Observing and analyzing the market and deducting an action plan for your territory with the goal to increase market share.
  • Gather best-practice cases and actively share experiences and knowledge within the High-End Life Science sales team.
  • Supporting the Marketing team and Sales Management in collecting testimonials, image materials, application notes, etc. from your customers.


Vos compétences

  • University degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology /Engineering or similar is an advantage.
  • Proven track record in Sales, Application, Product Support for High End Microscopes. ¬
  • Good technical understanding of optics, optical instruments and imaging methods.
  • Experience in using and/or selling complex, software controlled instrumentation.
  • Good understanding of biological applications in the high-end confocal imaging field.
  • Capable of identifying and understanding market trends and demands and transferring them into operational sales activities
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work both in an autonomous way and in a team environment.
  • Native French speaker, additional languages are of advantage.
  • Highly motivated character, eager to work in an international environment.
  • Due to the territory you will be responsible for, you ideally live in the South of France or Lyon area, with good connection possibilities to highways, train stations and airports.
  • Home Office based worker.
