As part of the Customer Content & Education team the Sr. Instructional Designer will play an important role in helping us transform the customer education experience at HHAeXchange. In this role, you will be a content creator and partner with Implementation, Customer Success, Customer Care, Product Management, and Product Marketing to create education and adoption content that will increase user adoption, engagement, and retention. Your success is defined by our customers’ success in using our products and features, product adoption, and customer retention. Essential Job DutiesDesign & DevelopmentUtilize instructional design principles and adult learning theories to create engaging and effective education & adoption content and experiences.Ensure content and experiences are learner-centric, interactive, and aligned with objectives.Create templates for design tools to ensure compliance with branding and modern design standards.Evaluate content created inside and outside the Instructional Design team for brand compliance, accessibility, and correct use of adult learning concepts.
Content CreationDesign and create various forms of educational & adoption content that provide users with ample opportunities to learn and upskill (e.g., videos, written content, in-app tutorials, multimedia assets, webinars, interactive exercises, presentations, etc.), considering different roles/personas, use cases, levels of experience and technical ability, unique ways of learning, and more.Independently manage large scale projects from intake to delivery with minimal supervision.
Assessment and Evaluation:Develop and implement assessments and evaluation strategies to measure the effectiveness of learning materials and identify areas for improvement.
Collaboration:Work closely with subject matter experts and customer facing teams to gather content and feedback, ensuring that content meets the needs of the target audience and content objective.Be a resource and approver of content for the Instructional Designers and Trainers to establish a high level of quality.Coach and mentor others in adult learning concepts and modern design principles.
Increase Adoption and RetentionCreate world-class content and educational experiences that are measured by an increase in product and feature adoption and customer retention.
LMS ResponsibilitiesPublish, Update, and Organize content within the LMS.Manage the userbase, assignments, and security permissions.Establish best practices and standards for LMS administration.Document LMS processes and provide internal education when needed.Be a Subject Matter Expert of the LMS.Other Job DutiesOther duties as assigned by supervisor or HHAeXchange leader.Travel RequirementsTravel up to 10%, including overnight travelRequired Education, Experience, Certifications, and Skills5+ years of experience in Instructional Design for a SaaS company, creating educational content to distill technical acumen to non-technical audiencesExperience in medical software training programsExperience leading large scale corporate education projects from intake to completionExperience with ensuring accessibility standards in videos and educational contentLoves using learning theories and instructional design models to create tailored learning content to achieve optimal outcomesSeasoned writer and storyteller capable of writing clear, engaging, and effective copy, instructional text, and scripts to different audiences Has a portfolio or examples of work demonstrating solid instructional design and visual design principlesWell-versed in instructional design software, e-learning authoring tools, multimedia editing software, and LMS administrationExpertise in all things video—creating GIFs, editing videos, tracking the success of on-demand/ self-directed videosAdvanced experience with Camtasia and SnagitAdvanced experience with all Articulate 360 suite (Storyline, Rise, etc.)Visual design skills (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, or other tools) and the ability to storyboardProficiency with webinar technologies (e.g., Zoom, or other tools)Experience with in-app tools (e.g., Pendo, Walkme, or other tools)Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, or JavaScript is a plusExceptional presentation skills and interpersonal/communication skills (oral and written)Self-starter with an established track record of effectively managing multiple projects and deadlines and working in a dynamic, fast-paced, team environmentThe base salary range for this US-based, full-time, and exempt position is $95,000-$110,000, not including variable compensation. An employee’s exact starting salary will be based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, merit, location, and the ability to exemplify the HHAeXchange core values.
