Senior Business Analyst

You are part of a high-performing team building modular underwriting tools for our insurance and reinsurance customers. You consult the client in shaping their needs and expectations. Based on the findings, you design, specify, and drive the implementation of user friendly and performant software. While doing so, you closely collaborate with our internal insurance experts and development teams using SAFe, an agile project framework.

The role’s scope will be tailored to your skills and interests.

Your technical skills

• University degree in quantitative science or IT
• Profound experience in (re)insurance
• Sound understanding of programming principles
• Experience working with agile project methods e.g., SAFe

Your personal skills

• You enjoy teamwork and learning new things
• You are a strong analytical thinker and problem solver, and you like to explore challenges
• You enjoy contributing to client meetings and can empathize with them, listen, ask the right questions for clarifications, and manage expectations
• You are happy to take up client input for their specific implementation – thus, our solutions slightly deviate by customer
• You can explain the product owner’s vision to the development team and convert it into a chain of clear and logically sound stories and tasks
• You take personal responsibility for the product delivery
• You are comfortable dealing with the occasional vague requirements: you see them as creative opportunities
• You are business fluent in English, German is a strong plus, and other languages are also welcome

About the project

We support a global commercial insurer in enhancing their underwriting landscape e.g., with a tool for making informed business steering decisions based on their actuarial framework. The user can define insurance portfolios and reprice them using varying parameters and scenarios. The results help the client to understand their current profitability portfolio analysis & enable them to steer their business plans going forward. The tool is embedded into the existing tool landscape and interacts with various operational applications.

This project was launched in January 2024. We are working towards the minimal viable product (MVP). The framework may be expanded to more business areas (markets, client segments & products) in the future.
