Job Description:

Become a member of a talented and dynamic team which hones Discover’s competitive edge by championing consumers rights to their personal information. Continued growth and enhancement of Discover’s privacy program allows for the opportunity to interact with leadership and business and demonstrate privacy expertise across the organization.

You will also work to maintain and enhance the department and lines of business compliance components in support of Company objectives.

How You’ll Do It:

  • Assist with researching regulatory compliance requirements and evaluating the adequacy of business policies, procedures, training and reference materials, system, and manual processes. 
  • Understand key data privacy regulations (e.g. GLBA, FCRA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CCPA). Assist with identifying and assessing compliance program risks and controls. 
  • Support and execute key privacy program processes.
  • Support management in the development, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs and a culture of compliance. 
  • Execute on and implement complex operational projects involving multiple business areas.
  • Assist with preparing status reports of program initiatives, activities, and compliance issues to management and committees. 
  • Maintain and enhance department or functional units in support of the overall compliance program components.
  • Promotes a risk-aware culture; ensures efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
  • Ensures compliance issues are brought to the attention of senior compliance professionals.
  • Collaborates with the business to implement corrective action and controls as a result of the risk assessment, Compliance, or Internal Audit findings.
  • Assists Senior Manager, Directors and VP in larger projects as needed.
  • Supports management in the development, implementation, maintenance, and maturation of compliance programs and a culture of compliance.
  • Assists with the preparation of status reports of program initiatives, activities, and compliance issues for management and committees.
  • Assists in evaluating the adequacy of business policies, procedures, training and reference materials, system and manual processes, and provides support for research of regulatory requirements related to privacy risk.

Qualifications You’ll Need:

The Basics 

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Security & Intelligence, Law, Information Technology, Analytics, Finance or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in compliance, law, risk management, or related field 
  • In lieu of a degree, 10+ years of experience in compliance, law, risk management, or related field 

Bonus Points If You Have 

  • Master's degree in Business, Security, Law, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Risk or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in privacy compliance in a financial institution
  • 8+ years of experience in compliance, law, risk management, or related field 
  • Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager 
  • JD, CISA, CIPP, CRMP, PMP, RIMS, or similar license/certification

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
