Data Scientist

Come join a team of excited and engaged data scientists working across a wide array of industries and domains, including weather, agriculture, refined fuels, marine applications, and transportation infrastructure!  DTN is looking for a data scientist to build generative AI (GenAI) applications for content creation.   

What you will be responsible for:  

• Design and implement GenAI models for content creation in interactive experiences and automated reporting, messaging, and outreach 

• Develop innovative GenAI applications for both text and visual content   

• Research and evaluate state-of-the-art tools and techniques in GenAI 

• Experiment with emerging AI technologies to enhance content creation capabilities and improve user experiences 

• Optimize generative models to improve accuracy, efficiency, and performance  

• Create and maintain documentation, training, and best-practice guidance for using GenAI tools and applications for content creation 

• Collaborate with software development teams to incorporate AI-generated content into applications and other content-delivery platforms 

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning, decision support, and GenAI techniques  

What you will bring to the role:  

• 2+ years of experience with Python and the PyData stack and tools such as Pandas, Numpy, and JupyterLab 

• In-depth knowledge of machine learning concepts and algorithms, particularly in generative models such as LLMs (Large Language Models), GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks), VAEs (Variational Autoencoders), or GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer)   

• Experience with version control tools such as GitLab or GitHub  

• Able to work within cloud-native workflows

The targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between $94,500 and $115,500. DTN is a pay for performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for market competitive variable pay and benefits.
