Location: New York / Remote

Working pattern: Full time, hybrid (if in New York) or remote (if elsewhere)

Pay range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year + discretionary bonus and incentives

 

About the role

We are looking for an Account Supervisor to lead corporate and public affairs accounts for the fast-growing US division of Grayling. This is a generalist role working across financial services, technology, energy, and healthcare, among other sectors.

You will be responsible for client retention by providing strong counsel and directing the team to deliver high-quality work. You will also be asked to add value outside of account work. This includes coaching junior colleagues and advancing their personal development. This also includes giving operational support to the management team, contributing to new business, and spearheading key initiatives such as marketing.

Most importantly, you will be an integral part of contributing to our culture of “nice, smart people who work hard.”

 

The day to day 

  • Serve as day-to-day point of contact with accounts you lead, internally and externally
  • Develop client relationships while providing expert counsel and deliverables
  • Demonstrate proficiency writing and editing across a myriad of formats
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key industry media, proactively ideating around opportunities for clients
  • Maintain and/or develop expertise in the sectors in which you are working
  • Provide direction and structure that enables team members to produce high-quality work, especially in earned media and content development
  • Manage junior team members both on accounts and outside of them
  • Provide support to management team on staffing and operational efficiencies
  • Expand your relationship network to benefit existing clients and new business
  • Contribute to new business proposals, and originate opportunities if possible
  • Pursue initiatives to support Grayling more broadly, especially those about which you are passionate
  • Bolster Grayling’s positive and collaborative culture

 

Desired qualifications 

  • 4+ years of experience in public relations agency or similar position; at least 1 year basic supervisory experience  
  • Proven success leading accounts, especially those with global teams
  • Ability to juggle deadlines in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple clients and other responsibilities
  • Interest in mentoring junior team members
