Job Summary

The Senior Manager - Accounts Payable is responsible for driving value focusing on process standardization, optimization, automation and digitization. This role reports to the Director – Procure to Pay and is integral in providing business leadership to continue building and reimagining the Accounts Payable function to drive process transformation in our transactional processing activities. Duties include but are not limited to managing the efficiency of our invoice and payment processing, P-Card strategy, vendor account reconciliations and communications with vendors and internal key stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience with implementing global AP automation technology solutions and be well versed in lean six sigma and process optimization with a strong understanding of full cycle procure to pay.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading Vail Resorts’ global accounts payable operations
  • Standardize and optimize P2P processes, policies and technology enablement to support our various lines of business
  • Identify opportunities across Procure to Pay to facilitate process optimization, resource efficiency and automation
  • Act as a point of escalation for Accounts Payable and business process owners and ensure timely remediation of issues
  • Partner with relevant stakeholders from various departments, including operations, IT, Accounting and Tax, to lead change management initiatives and system implementations
  • Develop and report Key Performance Indicators on SLA’s with a focus on providing highest quality service as well as transparency to internal customers
  • Act as the champion for process improvement initiatives and investments
  • Plan and monitor multiple projects simultaneously to ensure deliverables meet business objectives
  • Maintain a controlled process environment, ensure timely completion of tasks, identify and mitigate risk in processes, such as prepare and review monthly reconciliations and journal entries
  • Ensure compliance to SOX and Vail Resorts’ internal control framework, providing support for month end close activities, audits and reconciliations as needed
  • Develop leadership skills in others by coaching, mentoring, knowledge sharing and reinforcing best practices
  • Demonstrate positive and professional attitude towards staff, co-workers, internal and external customers, and management

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Engineering; MBA or MS strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement and accounts payables, with demonstrated success in continuous improvement and process optimization.
  • 5+ years leadership/management experience leading a highly efficient team
  • Outstanding analytical skills with ability to synthesize information, develop insights and communicate effectively in presentations and in-person meetings.
  • Deep curiosity and passion for understanding and analyzing financial results in the context of creating shareholder value.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to develop the “story” and form recommendations.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with strong initiative and ability to multi-task.
  • Superb attention to detail balanced by ability to focus on the "big picture."
  • Effectively manage and build capabilities and culture for a high performing professional team.

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $89,100 - $121,305 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
