QA Lead at Elsewhen

We’re seeking an experienced QA Lead who has a focus on automation testing to help lead and spearhead the growth and development of our QA team. You will be leading the QA team across different projects and clients, acting as a key communicator for different stakeholders with the role being 60% hands-on.

Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead the Elsewhen Quality Assurance (QA) team, encompassing both manual and automation testers, to ensure effective team operations.
  • Take charge of recruiting, training, and nurturing QA engineers, enhancing their skills, and fostering professional growth within the team.
    Strategy and Planning:
    • Design and execute detailed test strategies and plans for client projects, focusing on ensuring software quality and readiness for release.
    • Establish and refine QA processes to improve the efficiency and scalability of testing practices across the product.
    Testing and Quality Assurance:
    • Manage and direct all testing activities including functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
    • Identify software defects, document them using suitable tools, and collaborate with development teams for timely resolution.
    • Lead the development of robust automated testing frameworks using tools such as Pytest, Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, GitHub Actions, and Cloud Build.
      Collaboration and Reporting:
      • Work closely with Engineering, Product Management, and Operations teams to gather essential information for comprehensive QA coverage and provide feedback on product quality.
      • Deliver regular updates to stakeholders and management about testing progress, challenges encountered, and overall quality metrics.
      • Continuously evaluate and integrate new testing tools and methodologies to enhance software testing processes and outcomes.
        Automation and Reliability:
        • Partner with engineering and infrastructure teams to integrate automation solutions that prevent regressions and boost product reliability.

        The Ideal Candidate:

        • Demonstrates proficiency in various testing tools and frameworks, such as Playwright, Selenium, and Cypress for automation testing.
        • Substantial industry experience with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies.
        • Proven track record of leading QA teams and successfully delivering high-quality enterprise solutions.
        • Deep understanding of the TypeScript and Python ecosystems, with particular expertise in Pytest for both software and automated API testing.
        • Experienced in tools like Postman and Pytest for comprehensive automated API testing at scale.
        • Well-versed in continuous integration and deployment processes, with familiarity with tools such as GitHub Actions and Jenkins.
