Our rapidly expanding Data team is central to driving business growth through data. Consisting of 5 Data Analysts and 3 Data Engineers we’re on a mission to harness data's full potential to fuel strategic insights and decisions. 

We collaborate closely with leaders across different departments. This partnership ensures our data-driven initiatives align with the company's strategic objectives and inspire action.


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Analytics Engineer to join our data team, focusing primarily on financial data. The ideal candidate will have a background in data engineering, data modeling, and financial data management. They will be responsible for building and maintaining robust data pipelines, feeding finance oriented reports and analyses, and ensuring data integrity to support business decisions.

Daily activities:

  • Model data as per business needs using standards like Kimball, and perform data discovery to uncover and integrate new data sources.

  • Collaborate with Data Analysts to establish best practices and processes for data projects, fostering a cohesive and productive data management strategy.

  • Design and implement incremental ELT pipelines utilizing Python and PySpark to efficiently process and manage data flows using top-notch tools, like Dagster or Databricks

  • Engage in data lineage, cataloging, and governance activities to maintain a clear and secure data ecosystem.

  • Uphold engineering and programming excellence across the team by adhering to Software Engineering (SWE) standards, including testing, providing code reviews, monitoring data ecosystem, and contributing to documentation.

  • Work closely with DevOps and Engineering teams to ensure high quality data systems.


Requirements
  • Specific experience working with financial data and understanding of financial data structures and requirements.

  • Demonstrated experience in data discovery, including asking insightful questions to properly understand problems and tackle them through effective data modelling.

  • Proficient in Python, SQL for data processing and pipeline development. 

  • Experience with data modelling standards such as Kimball methodology for data warehousing.

  • Strong understanding of data lineage, cataloging, and governance principles.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with data analysts and other stakeholders.

Nice to have
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of PySpark

  • Familiarity with enova365 data model

  • Familiarity with Delta Lakehouse architecture and its optimization techniques.
