Position Summary
The Office of Information Security works collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organization to assess the information security landscape of the enterprise. We engage our community to foster a security-aware culture by producing original communications, developing, collecting, curating, and administering training materials, and conducting phish testing.

This job will provide guidance, manage requests, evaluate opportunities, and develop communications related to the Information Security Policy Library. This role requires the candidate to engage a diverse audience in clear and accurate communications about information security best practices that are conveyed in the policy library. The candidate should possess excellent writing and public-speaking skills. The ideal candidate is a driven team-player, capable of wearing multiple hats, with experience working in a dynamic environment.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Synthesizes content from policies and standards to create clear and actionable written and verbal communications for a diverse audience of faculty, staff, and students. 
  • Plans and manages events for annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month. 
  • Delivers enthusiastic presentations about the policy library as a guest speaker in various meetings across campus
  • Develops training curriculum related to the policy library. 
  • Analyzes readership and training data to understand and improve program performance. 
  • Performs other duties as required. 

Working Conditions

  • This is a time-limited position for up to two years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SANS GIAC, ISC2 SSCP or other security related certification. 
  • Familiar with networking technologies e.g. Firewalls, VPN concentrators, routers, and switches. 
  • Familiar with systems technologies e.g. e-mail gateways, web services, database servers and file hosting. 
  • Ability to quickly assess the specific needs of the customer to determine course of action. 
  • Ability to differentiate between problems and symptoms and develop solutions to address overall problem. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; detailed oriented. 
  • Ability to resolve routine and complex problems based on existing documentation, training, and resources. 
  • Ability to convert technical information into easily understandable terms. 
  • Aptitude for patience, professionalism, tactfulness, and empathy. 
  • Enthusiastic and committed to helping others. 
  • Strong team-oriented interpersonal skills; ability to effectively interface with a wide variety of people. 
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to outline situations in terms that can be delivered in both business and technology settings.

Required Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Technology, Business, English, Communications, Education and a minimum of six years of experience analyzing business processes, applying instructional design methods and theories, developing training curricula, user documentation, and/or communications programs; or equivalent combination of experience, certification, and education.

Salary Range
$64,700.00 - $110,500.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
