Our Team takes responsibility for guiding and supporting the Baker Hughes business units and functions on the development and implementation of privacy and security policies, programs, and initiatives. We partner with the business to ensure that Baker Hughes is at the forefront of data privacy and cybersecurity in the energy sector.

You will be responsible for supporting the effective implementation of the Baker Hughes global data privacy program. You will provide legal support to regional and global business functions on all aspects of privacy regulatory compliance with a particular focus on Europe and SSA. You will provide legal advice on global and local privacy compliance policies, procedures and processes.
 

As a Data Privacy Counsel, you will be responsible for:
 

  • Managing data privacy aspects of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and support data owners with responding to DSARs.

  • Managing Data Transfer Impact Assessments for EU cross-border personal data transfers.

  • Sourcing privacy support and Commercial (negotiation of customer and vendor contracts).

  • Supporting incident response (including Data Loss Prevention - DLPs).

  • Supporting general day-to-today activities in response to business requests with a focus on Europe and SSA privacy support.

  • Supporting Segments, Regions and relevant Functions with the effective implementation of the Data Privacy Program.

  • Developing and delivering privacy compliance training.

  • Supporting data privacy audits (both internal and external audits).

  • Monitoring data privacy regulatory developments (horizon scanning) and update the Data Privacy team as needed.

To be successful in this role you will:
 

  • Have a Law degree from a reputable law school in Europe.

  • Have some law practice experience in a European jurisdiction in data privacy related roles either in private practice or in-house.

  • Have good understanding and knowledge of the GDPR and data privacy legislation more generally.

  • Have cross border/international experience.

  • Have very good oral and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.

  • Have established project management skills.

  • Be a team player who enjoys working within a global team.
