About the Role:

Zego is a high-growth property technology company seeking a Sr. Quality Analyst to join our Data Analytics team. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and testability of our big data projects. We are looking for experienced individuals who can leverage their expertise in data analytics and quality assurance to drive the integrity and reliability of our data products and services. As a Sr. Quality Analyst at Zego, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality data solutions that meet our customers' needs.

What You’ll Do Here:

  • Lead the testing effort for data analytics projects, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data products.

  • Design, document, and review test cases specific to big data projects, collaborating with data engineers and analysts.

  • Execute manual and automated tests to validate data integrity, performance, and functionality.

  • Conduct thorough data validation, verification, and cross-referencing with source data.

  • Troubleshoot and analyze data quality issues, working independently to resolve them.

  • Apply risk assessment methodologies and diverse QA processes tailored to big data environments.

  • Write and execute SQL queries to validate data and support testing efforts.

  • Collaborate within an agile environment, participating in sprint planning and reviews.

  • Build productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver quality data solutions.

  • Mentor and train junior testers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in data quality practices.

About You:

  • Proven experience in quality assurance, particularly with big data projects and data analytics.

  • Strong knowledge of data validation techniques, data warehousing, and ETL processes.

  • Proficiency with SQL and familiarity with automated testing frameworks for data projects.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot data quality issues independently.

  • Strong attention to detail and a deep understanding of data quality principles.

  • Experience working within an agile environment, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to mentor colleagues.

  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and innovation in driving data quality improvements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Software engineering fundamentals. (B.S. Computer Science or equivalent skills and knowledge)

  • Knowledge/experience in Software Quality Engineering practices

  • Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures / API's is a plus (web services testing) 

  • Working knowledge of SQL 

  • Working knowledge of code management systems and Github

  • Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills 

  • Outstanding communication skills - with the ability to follow written and oral instructions in a highly dynamic environment

Within One Month, You’ll:

  • Attend New Hire Training and complete onboarding processes.

  • Learn about Zego’s data analytics projects and the overall technology landscape.

  • Start leading testing efforts for specific data domains.

  • Build relationships with team members and key stakeholders.

Within Three Months, You’ll:

  • Lead quality activities within data analytics projects, applying advanced testing techniques.

  • Utilize SQL and automated testing frameworks to validate data integrity.

  • Conduct risk assessments and apply diverse QA processes tailored to big data environments.

  • Perform data validation, verification, and cross-referencing with source data.

Within Six Months, You’ll:

  • Influence project outcomes by applying deep domain and product knowledge.

  • Drive improvements in data quality by understanding priorities and measuring performance.

  • Establish and execute plans for deliverables, collaborating across business units.

Within Twelve Months, You’ll:

  • Be an established Sr. Quality Analyst in the Data Analytics team.

  • Mentor new hires and colleagues, contributing to the growth and success of the team.

  • Continue to innovate and drive effective data quality and testing improvements.
