Job Description

As Rockwell's Field Support Engineer, you will provide services to support the on-site installation, startup, maintenance, and operation of automation control systems & advanced manufacturing software applications, drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products which comprise these systems. Travel is required, 50-75%. If you are not at a customer's site, you can work from your home office or the Rockwell Automation office in Frisco, TX. You will report to the Engineering Services Manager and will be located in the Dallas, TX or suburban area.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Rockwell Automation variable frequency drive (VFD) startup, preventive maintenance, and warranty support.
  • Troubleshooting Rockwell Automation products, including Low & Medium Voltage Drives, HMIs, Small and Large controllers.
  • PLC and HMI programming utilizing RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, FactoryTalk View ME/SE.
  • Maintain automation and equipment including working with voltages up to 4160VAC.
  • Perform Startup/Commissioning on Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Testing, calibration, checking, correcting, adjusting and part component replacement services on customer drive products.
  • LV/MV MCC, switchgear, soft starters and transformers

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Rockwell Automation will not offer sponsorship for this position.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Bachelors degree in engineering
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experienced in PLC and HMI programming utilizing RSLogix 5, 500, 5000, RSView32 and/or FTView ME/SE
  • Ability to travel throughout the region/assigned territory, to work overtime, on-call and weekends
