We are looking for a Senior Research Specialist to join our LNG team.

WHY IS THIS JOB IMPORTANT

The role of the team is to deliver data-driven analysis and reports as our customers worldwide rely on our expertise to make their trading and investment decisions. The team develops proprietary fundamental and price forecasting models and produces the forward looking view of supply, demand, and prices. The team also offers in-depth view and explanation of our forecasted data in the thought leadership reports. Our customers span over the Natural Gas and LNG producers, importers, distribution companies, trading houses, and financial and governmental institutions.

Preferred candidates should demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills and have experience in the energy markets.

SOME OF THE DAILY TASKS YOU WILL PERFORM:

  • Support projects, using technical understanding to help remove obstacles and to find creative solutions.
  • Develop and maintain our in-house market models, embracing an ethos of continuous improvement to help ensure our modelling solutions remain relevant.
  • Set up data flow processing and maintenance to ensure accurate and prompt databases updates, using technical and basic market knowledge.
  • Contribute to market reports, transforming our data and forecasts into meaningful analysis
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Support improvements to the content and design of our analytical tools, charts, and tables
  • Build domain expertise in LNG market content
  • While focused on the LNG gas market, you will need to learn broader global themes and trends relevant to European and North American products and be prepared to support the global team covering these.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

  • BA/MA Higher education in economics, business, mathematics or /energy related degree
  • Natural curiosity and a detail-oriented approach
  • Up to 2 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding the importance of ensuring data quality and accuracy
  • Economic knowledge with a strong grounding in statistics and/or operational research
  • Programming skills (MATLAB, Python, or R)
  • Positive attitude to learning new skills and technologies, particularly around the Gas market and analytics.
  • Power BI knowledge is an advantage.
