Your missions

The Technical Operations Specialist manages and optimizes the daily activities of maintaining and improving the handling of Information Security Governance Controls within the engineering teams in the Education Technology Services (ETS) division of SEI, focusing on Sophia and Workforce Edge.

As a Technical Operations Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining compliance, process change documentation, managing vendor service renewals, and support for internal audits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with compliance audits and risk assessments
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to compliance and operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
  • Participate in the development and implementation of best practices, policies, and standards
  • Participate as a team member in the Information Security Governance Committees for Workforce Edge and Sophia.
  • Assist with the management of third party systems
  • Support the onboarding and off boarding process for engineering team members
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical processes and documentation

Job Skills:

  • Proficiency in user account management, including provisioning and deprovisioning
  • Strong understanding of role-based access control (RBAC) principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of vendor assessment and selection processes
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships and performance
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Work Experience:

  • 2+ years in compliance or technical operations roles
  • 1 year of experience working with SOC2 and other compliance frameworks
  • 1 year of experience with identity and access management (IAM) systems
  • 1 year of experience in stakeholder management and relationship building
  • 1 year of experience with contract management and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • 1 year of experience implementing security best practices
  • 1 year of experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • 1 year of vendor management experience (preferred)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred)

Certificates, licenses and registrations:

  • ITIL, CISA, CRISC, or CompTIA Security+ (preferred)

Other:

  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Typical office setting.
  • Mobility within the office including movement from floor to floor.
  • Travel via plane, car, and metro may be required to perform this job.
  • Must be able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
  • Access information using a computer.
  • Effectively communicate, both up and down the management chain.
  • Effectively cope with stressful situations.
  • Strong mental acuity.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this job.
  • Other essential functions and marginal job functions are subject to modification.
