Job Description:

Broadcom is the market leader in delivering semiconductor and software networking solutions. Brocade is the market leader in Fibre Channel Storage Area Networking.

We are seeking a Pre-Sales Senior Systems Engineer to cover the US Federal Government with primarily DOD and Intelligence Agency focus.

Target customers include Federal DOD, Intelligence, and Civilian end users, as well as Federal System Integrators.

Technology focus will be on Fibre Channel SANs (storage area networks) and mission critical storage administration.

The Systems Engineer is a key member of the Brocade sales team with the responsibility of being a trusted advisor for our strategic customers, OEMs, and channel partners, who will assist the field sales organization to meet or exceed sales quota.

Preferable residence location is the Washington DC metropolitan area (airport access is key as overnight travel is required approximately 2-3 trips a quarter).

Responsibilities

  • Provide Pre-Sales technical support and expertise, partnering with Brocade account managers, to assist in the sales effort

  • Conduct Brocade technology presentations (in person on customers’ premises, as well as remotely on video calls), demonstrations, and architectural reviews for Brocade products including fully redundant directors, switches, extension platforms, and software management tools

  • Perform production workload analysis, and assess customer SLA requirements

  • Architect SAN-based topologies, and conduct validation of customer design and configuration requirements

  • Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key customers, recognizing their primary technical initiatives, priorities, and challenges

  • Act as an advocate for customers by engaging Brocade product support, and marketing functions internally, as the voice of the customer

  • Engage and collaborate with other Broadcom business units to assist in complementary technical sales functions as required

  • Support our strategic partners, acting as a technical advisor, and Brocade subject matter expert to assist in deal closure. This includes product presentations, training, and topology review

  • Act in the role of the escalation point for key customer technical needs and issues, to maintain customer satisfaction, and to deliver the best total customer experience

  • Must be able to identify competitive opportunities and drive a preference towards Brocade by articulating the differentiation & benefits of a Brocade Solution

Qualifications

  • BS/CS/CE technical degree

  • Minimum of 8+ years of Pre-Sales experience selling into Federal enterprise level data centers

  • Strong preference for candidates with an active US Government Top Secret security clearance

  • Expert level in storage networking including Fibre Channel, block-based storage, IP based storage, network design, and implementation experience in enterprise-level data center networks

  • Expert level on Fibre Channel design, configuration and administration including FC routing, FICON, FCIP with an in-depth understanding of SCSI/iSCSI, NVMe and Storage Virtualization

  • Understanding of government required certifications (FIPS, Common Criteria, JITC, CNSA 1.0/2.0, TIC, USGv6 and TAA).

  • Understanding of customer specific Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)

  • Working knowledge of industry standard CLI, Ansible, REST, Python, and LINUX with experience developing and integrating with automation frameworks

  • Strong knowledge of all aspects and platforms for storage networking including SDS, HCI, HPC and Cloud

  • Strong knowledge on the various types of NVMe over Fabric solutions (NVMe over FC/TCP/RoCEv2)

  • Working knowledge of ethernet, IP and routing protocols

  • Base understanding of industry AI trends, initiatives, and having business adoption experience is a strong plus

  • Strong verbal communication and writing skills with the ability to manage projects to completion

  • Demonstrate diligent, proactive self-initiative, to drive positive outcomes

  • Networks with other industry contacts and partners, leveraging professional social media platforms

Additional Job Description:

Compensation and Benefits

The On Target Earnings (OTE) range for this position is $125,000 - $200,000.

OTE includes Sales Incentive Commission in accordance with relevant plan documents. This position is also eligible for equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
