Title: Management Accountant

Location: 100% Work from home in the Luzon region of the Philippines only

Shift: Flexible late shift - Core working hours from 8:30 PM - 1:30 AM PHT (remaining hours can be completed before or after that) 

About The Role

TaxValet is looking for a Management Accountant that will report and analyze the financial statements for the company. As the company’s accountant, you will work closely with members of our Executive Team to forecast the company’s long-term financial growth while also managing the bookkeeping, payroll and tax compliance functions of the organization. This position is ideal for someone who wants to create policies that will drive the long-term success of financial systems for a growing organization.

Your Qualifications

Professional

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial or related field
  • Certified Management Accountant
  • At least 2 years experience in bookkeeping, accounting and/or financial reporting for a U.S. based organization

  • You have amazing attention to detail. If there is an error or something isn’t reconciling, you are the one who catches it and fixes it.
  • Confidentiality is a strength of yours. You’re the trusted team member that people know sensitive information is safe with.
  • You thrive working independently. You often love your “in the zone” focus time and don’t feel the need to work within a team every day. 
  • You could look at data all day long. You enjoy not just crunching the numbers, but analyzing and explaining it to others, too.

Please note that the final step before being hired is for you to arrange reference calls with three of your former managers. 

Your Primary Responsibilities

  • Managing the A/P and A/R functions of the organization. This includes working with vendors and clients, handling purchasing needs for the business, ensuring adequate controls are in place and coordinating the resolution of any payment or billing issues.
  • Submitting and recording payroll for all employees, including regular wages, bonuses, benefits and reimbursements. 
  • Preparing, analyzing and reporting on financial statements monthly. This includes entering journal entries and completing account reconciliations, as well as maintaining our long-term financial forecasting and reporting on any material variances.
  • Handling the tax and employee/employer state compliance of the organization along with notice management. You will also be responsible for registration and reporting at the state level for employee location changes.

Specific Measures of Success

No surprises here! After a year on the job, you’ll be measured by these specific outcomes:

  • Financial Statement Variance: Actual vs. forecasted monthly financials have <5% expense variance.
  • Client Billing Resolution: Client billing issues are resolved on average within 14 days.  
  • Payroll and Reimbursements: All employee payroll, reimbursements, bonuses will be paid out on time according to their schedule. 
  • Completion of online education and training: You will complete 3 hours per quarter of educational training.
  • Completion rate of quarterly rocks: All rocks have at least an 80% completion rate for the year.
