Director, Data Analytics

Job Purpose and Overview

Appfire is seeking a Director of Data Analytics to lead and enhance our global analytics strategy. In this senior leadership role you will be responsible for spearheading initiatives that activate Appfire’s central data asset, Firelake, to achieve connected and cohesive data-driven decisions across all levels of the company. You will collaborate with various teams to define and execute data-driven roadmaps, balancing immediate business needs with long-term strategic exploration that help to shape Appfire's future direction.

This role is ideal for a leader looking to join a fast-growing company, lead leaders and integrate a vision of data-driven decision enablement into the fabric of a company while producing individual contributor work which spearheads that vision from the front.

What You Will Do:

Strategy

• Implement an analytics strategy aligned to Appfire’s business goals.
• Define and articulate data value across Appfire, promoting seamless integration and connectivity across our operations.
• Lead Appfire in establishing company-wide success metrics, planning and executing on roadmap initiatives to support short-term company objectives and long-term innovation.

Leadership

• Lead a team of data & business analysts, and analytics leaders, to activate our data in more and more advanced and valuable ways.
• Foster a culture of rapid prototyping to achieve accurate and impactful analysis and reports that support Appfire’s growth.
• Enhance team capabilities with new tools and analytical methods, setting high standards for data utilization at Appfire.
• Balance a long term outlook and team enablement with your own impactful individual contributor work that defines decision enablement at Appfire.

Cross-Functional Partnerships 

• Structure Appfire’s decision tools through trusted, accessible and discoverable reporting and analysis
• Uplevel Appfire’s decision maturity as a whole through analytics trainings and self-service enablement
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to enhance business outcomes, promoting best practices in leveraging Appfire’s data across the company.
• Collaborate with Business Teams and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to align financial goals to business strategies.

What We Would Like to See:

• 5+ years leading and cultivating an analytics culture with a focus on bringing others with you on a decision-maturity journey and inspiring leaders and teams to achieve that vision
• 7+ years experience activating central data warehouses (Snowflake strongly preferred)
• 5+ Years leading analytics teams and leaders
• Expertise in SQL, Python, and multiple analytics tools
• Experience in building and adopting analytics best practices across reporting, data analysis, collaboration, governance, and training
• Ability to navigate with different stakeholders from C-suite to technical teams engaging with all levels of an organization, from C-Suite to technical teams
