Client Overview:

Sagan represents a company looking for an established freelance SEO Writer to report and write engaging and thoughtful SEO articles for the company. This role is perfect for a seasoned writer with a proven track record of producing consumer-facing content that secures and maintains top positions in Google search results for high-volume, U.S.-based keywords.

As an SEO Writer, you will be responsible for reporting and writing 25 editorial assignments per month. These assignments include original pieces targeting new SEO keywords as well as updates of top-performing pieces. Your work will be grounded in expert-backed insights, requiring 1-2 expert interviews for approximately two-thirds of the articles. You will optimize your articles for Google's E-E-A-T criteria and adhere to the company style guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Report and write 25 editorial assignments per month, including original SEO-targeted articles and updates of top-performing pieces.
• Produce 7-6 articles per week, each ranging from 1200-1500 words.
• Conduct 1-2 expert interviews for approximately two-thirds of the articles.
• Optimize SEO articles for Google's E-E-A-T criteria and adhere to the company style guidelines.
• Include meta-descriptions and decks for social media.
• Perform up to 2 rounds of revisions per article, as needed.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a reporter/writer with bylines on reputable service journalism outlets (self-published articles on Medium and similar platforms do not meet this standard).
• Strong reporting skills with the ability to identify and secure credible sources, craft thoughtful questions, and turn interviews into insightful content.
• Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce multiple stories a day free of typos, grammatical errors, and inaccuracies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word or Google Docs.
• Strong written English skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
• Basic understanding of social media best practices for content distribution.
• Experience with SEO tools and analytics platforms.
