Job Title: Transportation Manager

Reports To: Director of Warehousing and Transportation

We are searching for a Transportation Manager that will lead the planning and execution of our transportation operations.  Our Transportation team is responsible for the movement of materials to key places in Jeni’s Supply Chain and to customers.   This person will oversee the procurement and onboarding of all key transportation partners that deliver our desired customer service levels using lowest sustainable cost. This person will exemplify Jeni’s core values of talent, hustle, guts, resilience, and empathy.

This position is responsible for:

• Oversees and manages relationships with key 3rd party fulfillment and transportation providers

• Perform active management of contracts with parcel, LTL and TL carriers in Jeni’s transportation network

• Procure carriers for all Jeni’s transportation needs, and lead RFPs for current business needs

• Manage, audit and approve all costs associated with Jeni’s transportation needs

• Lead strategic discussions with 3rd party providers to improve service, and meet Jeni’s goal of lowest sustainable cost

• Create and measure transportation measures to enable Jeni’s operations through each sales channel

• Provide data-based reports to help cross-functional supply chain stakeholders

• Establish SOPs for transportation operations

• Ensure adherence to Food Safety and FSMA requirements in all transportation operations

• Communicate in a professional manner throughout Jeni’s organization and with customers as needed

• Deliver impactful cross-functional projects for Jeni’s supply chain 

• Responsible for the development and mentorship of direct reports

Qualified applicants will have the following education and experience:

• 5+ years of prior Transportation experience

• Strong understanding of transportation pricing, with managing RFPs a plus

• Demonstrated project management experience

• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills while maintaining positive working relationships with suppliers

• Functional Microsoft Office experience

• ERP, WMS and TMS experience strongly preferred

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Experience in leading and coaching small teams
