About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Design to lead our design team, crafting exceptional and impactful solutions that resonate across our product design and brand identity. In this pivotal role, you will not only strategize the visual direction of our products but also ensure that our design principles seamlessly integrate into our products, services, and overall branding efforts. As the Director of Design, your responsibilities extend to managing a team of skilled designers, UX researchers, and writers. You'll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to foster a culture of design excellence within the organization, while focusing on delivering high-quality, user-centered design solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of our business clients. This role demands a blend of creative vision and strategic leadership, vital for shaping the design landscape of our company.

What you’ll do here:

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of designers, UX researchers, and writers, focusing on creating intuitive, efficient, and engaging user interfaces for SaaS products.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive design strategy that is in harmony with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • Work closely with different teams within the organization, including Product Management, Engineering, and Product Marketing, to translate design visions into functional and marketable products. 
  • Establish and develop best practices in design research and UX writing.
  • Champion user-centric design, advocating for the needs and preferences of the target audience. Actively listen to client feedback, leadership insights, and input from the Product team to synthesize into simple and intuitive solutions for complex business problems.
  • Monitor and evaluate design performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations for continuous improvement. Ensure that design initiatives effectively meet user needs and enhance the overall product experience.
  • Ensure that all design initiatives are not only user-focused but also align seamlessly with broader business goals, facilitating a holistic approach to product development and brand representation.

 

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience indesign roles, with a proven track record in UX/UI design, particularly in the B2B SaaS sector
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), User Experience (UX) Design, Graphic Design, or a related field
  • 4+ years of leadership experience with the proven ability to inspire and motivate a team of designers, UX researchers, writers, and work collaboratively across different departments.
  • Portfolio demonstrating expertise in creating user-centered design solutions for SaaS B2B products, along with a proven track record in leading design projects from conception to implementation.
  • Expertise in design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, etc.), a basic understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS), and familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to strategically align design with business goals and user needs, underpinned by a commitment to user-centered design principles.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders across multiple regions and timezones.
