As a data engineer in MUFG, your roles and responsibilities would typically include:
Data Infrastructure Management: Designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure, including databases, and data pipelines, to ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) Development: Developing and implementing ETL processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into a consistent format, and load it into the data ecosystem for analysis.
Data Integration: Integrating data from different systems and sources, including internal databases and external APIs, to create a unified view of the organization's financial data.
Data Quality and Governance: Ensuring data quality, integrity, and security by implementing data governance processes, data validation, and data cleansing procedures.
Performance Optimization: Optimizing data infrastructure and processing pipelines to enhance data processing speed and overall system performance.
Real-time Data Processing: Implementing real-time data processing solutions to handle streaming financial data for time-sensitive applications like trading platforms or fraud detection.
Data Security and Privacy: Implementing security measures to protect sensitive financial data from unauthorized access and complying with data privacy regulations.
Collaborative Work: Collaborating with product owners, business analysts, data analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide them with reliable and accessible data.
