Become part of a highly technically skilled software team, in charge for the development of Premium Radar SDK on all NXP supported platforms. Premium Radar SDK enables developers to enhance radar system performance, leveraging tight coupling of NXP’s advanced software algorithms with its latest  radar processor families for improved safety and differentiation. The proprietary radar algorithm library allows quick integration of proven algorithms into radar sensor applications, helping to speed radar sensor development and reduce R&D investment.

As Premium Radar SDK Embedded Software Engineer you will contribute to the success of the team by ensuring the definition, prototyping and productization of the radar algorithms in alignment with marketing requirements. The implementation of the radar algorithms follows the NXP Software Development Processes that is Automotive SPICE, IATF 16949, ISO 26262 and ISO 9001 compliant.

Your responsibilities

  • Ensure the smooth transition from functional prototypes to software products for next-gen algorithms that solve practical challenges in automotive radars including but not limited to high-resolution array angle estimation problem, MIMO waveform multiplexing/de-multiplexing algorithms, radar-on-radar interference mitigation, 2D and 3D object detection and classification, scene understanding, semantic and instance segmentation as well as NN model optimization, etc.
  • Get involved in activities of problem modeling, advanced mathematical algorithm development, prototyping (in Matlab, C/C++, ML frameworks, etc…), real-data validation with experimental systems, embedded software implementation, and system integration and testing tasks.
  • Participate in the development of features and bug fixes.
  • Understand feature specifications, implement Unit Tests to ensure quality of deliverables.
  • Design, implement and test firmware modules
  • Functional and non-functional requirement specifications.
  • Software design and documentation using Enterprise Architect.
  • Implementation, module testing.

The Radar SDK team collaborates with NXP teams from North America, Europe and Asia.

Your profile

To be successful in this role you have:

  • University degree in a technical field such as: Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with radar algorithm optimizations in simulation environments.
  • Experience with FMCW radar signal processing techniques
  • Experience with DSP, advanced linear algebra, detection and estimation theories, array processing, and modern sparse estimation techniques
  • Experience in programming with Matlab.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary areas (Arm, SoC, Software enablement, Tools, Platform-HW, Linux, RTOS, Drivers etc.)
  • Experience developing software on embedded systems with an HLOS, cross-compilation.
  • Familiarity with ML frameworks like PyTorch, Tensorflow including ML tools like tflite, and data formats like Protobufs, ONNX.

Furthermore, you are:

  • Skilled in oral and written communication in English.
  • Attentive to details, self-motivated and able to be a team player while working independently.
  • Experienced with multi-site and multi-cultural environments and able to travel as needed.

Contract: This is a fulltime position with a permanent contract
