Description

Scopely is looking for a Senior Dev QA to join our Yahtzee team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis working 2 days a week from our hub.

YAHTZEE is one of our casual free-to-play mobile games and is a classic board game with a new look. The team is based in Europe and the US, and works every day to create captivating new experiences for our players. 

What You Will Do  
  • Manage the testing design: Develop, review and maintain test plans, including test cases, test scripts, and testing harnesses
  • Collaborate with development team: Work closely with the development team to identify defects and areas of improvement. Work to ensure developers understand the context of issues found and assist in debugging and resolution
  • Perform test reporting and documentation: Record and track test results, report on quality metrics, and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide guidance and support: Support the team with technical or process related issues and provide guidance to the team on testing best practices and principles
  • Assess the testability of the existing and new features to be developed under their teams
  • Manage the backlog for their Pod, triaging and owning the bugs and their process over their life
  • Assess risk when quality is not met or in danger and raise flags if necessary to QA management and/or pod leadership
  • Influence on their teams and fostering a Quality culture in which all the team is accountable for the quality by improving knowledge and creating events or ceremonies to enhance it
  • Be the go to person in the team when it comes to Quality for anyone inside or outside the team
  • Support internal and external testers on their duties, providing knowledge and tools/configurations when required
  • Contribute and be paladin over quality when it comes to defining acceptance criteria
  • Proactively look always for ways of improving the quality of both the application and the team processes
  • Fostering the Agile methodologies and helping the pod lead when applicable
  • Communicate proactively: Communicate testing progress, timelines, and issues to the project manager, stakeholders, and development team.
  • Coordinate with the craft lead and manager potential needs over external teams such as automation and/or localisation over the features in the team
  • Proactively seek for opportunities of efficiency increase on our QA approaches, such as tools, automation and/or processes
 
What We’re Looking For  
  • Extensive experience within QA to be able to ultilise your skills to improve the quality of our processes 
  • Experience building functional testing plans 
  • Used to working with Agile methodologies
  • Strong verbal / written communication and an excellent attention to detail  
  • Strong time management, accountability and organisational skills  
  • An ability to negotiate and ensure you and your team's message is heard, all the while with a sound business understanding to ensure correct balance and needs are met  
  • Proactive, enthusiastic and self-motivated   
  • Flexible to an agile setup with the ability to multitask, managing coverage for multiple high profile releases with strict deadlines  
  • A strong commercial awareness with an understanding of business priorities and goals  
  • Exceptional reporting capabilities
