The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Mainframe Technology Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Ensuring alignment of all day-to-day support activities with 3M's mainframe vendor
• Identifying and addressing any gaps in support processes
• Identifying, tracking and prioritizing optimization opportunities
• Understanding and managing the software stack used to support mainframe applications
• Coordinating internal change management
• Coordinating between applications and infrastructure to ensure smooth operation of mainframe and mainframe-dependent applications

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Information Technology (completed and verified prior to start)
• Seven (7) years of experience working with mainframe systems in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Work experience directly managing vendor relationships
• Work experience leading projects specific to mainframe systems
• Work experience troubleshooting complex mainframe issues
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator or similar

Work location:

• Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on site, or hybrid)

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $160,284 - $195,903, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
