Main Responsibilities:
- Be an Individual Contributor, but mentor a team of software engineers.
- Oversee the development of software solutions.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure understanding of our goals.
- Ensure code quality and maintainability by enforcing best practices.
- Inspire creativity and continuous improvement within the engineering team.
- You will report to Associate Managing Director, Software Engineering.
Requirements:
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor or Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering with coding knowledge in VB.NET, C#, C++ or at least one of these programming languages.
- Have more than 20 years of experience in software development in the field of Chemical Engineering.
- Have process engineering fundamentals knowledge while working in Upstream/Midstream Oil & Gas/LNG/Gas Processing, Refining, Petro-Chemicals, Sustainability, and Hydrocarbon Engineering related areas.
- Have hands-on experience writing extensions or software development for commercially available process engineering flow-sheeting software like UniSim Design, Aspen Hysys, PetroSim, or other similar tools.
- Have hands-on experience using commercially available process engineering flow-sheeting software like UniSim Design, Aspen Hysys, PetroSim, or other similar tools.
- Have hands-on knowledge of Safety System Design, Rating and Simulation Products such as Flare, Blowdown (emergency depressurization) and Relief device sizing & rating.
- Can work as SME (subject matter expert) in Safety System related area.
- Can help create a detailed functional specification including equations to be used and strategies for development of new unit operations and functionalities in commercially available process engineering flow-sheeting software.
- Experience to mentor software developers who have coding skills however are not chemical engineers.
