The Mission

We are seeking a talented Engineering Manager to join our growing Cloud Native Applications team. The right candidate is someone who can manage and mentor a team of software engineers and architects as well as being the point of technical escalation for our clients and project. Your mission will be twofold. First and foremost to ensure our clients receive high quality work that aligns with their goals. Secondly, to manage and mentor an internal team.

Your Assignment

  • Manage a team of 5 - 7 cloud software engineers and architects
  • Interface with clients and internal teams to propose technical improvements using your cloud and software engineering knowledge
  • Kickoff new client engagements and act as a point of technical escalation
  • Develop and review proposals and contracts and present these to clients
  • Perform technical interviews for Architect and Engineer candidates
  • Aid in the the staffing process for client projects
  • Provide technical guidance to Architects and Engineers on engagements
  • Represent your direct reports during annual calibration sessions
  • Perform weekly 1:1s with your direct reports and guide their career development

Your Qualifications

  • Previous experience managing a team (preferably in the areas of cloud, devops or application development)
  • Experience working with AWS or other cloud-related solutions
  • Experience writing, reviewing, and deploying using multiple different coding languages (nodejs, go, react, angular, typescript, python, etc)
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing professional services engagements
  • Enthusiasm for working in a startup environment and the ability to be cross-functional
  • Possess a natural curiosity and excitement for learning new technology
  • Technical background in application development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a client-facing environment
  • Experience working in consulting or professional services 
  • Experience with testing and automation
  • Experience with UI/UX
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology or related field
