About the Role

The Digital Learning Expert will apply deep knowledge of educational and instructional design methodologies to deliver optimal digital learning experiences through Elsevier learning platforms. This role requires expertise in building higher education courses for digital delivery. Also essential is deep knowledge of creating and evaluating assessments and a proven ability to teach, train, and coach others.
 

Responsibilities

  • Guiding experts to develop high-quality nursing and allied health learning content.

  • Developing and maintaining high-quality, current, and concise content in adherence with Elsevier editorial policies and nursing related standards.

  • Hiring and managing a team of subject matter experts to assist with the authoring, review, and feedback process.

  • Providing high-level expertise and input into the strategic plans for digital content delivery for the organization.

  • Reviewing content/data for all Elsevier Adaptive Quizzing (EAQ) and Sherpath courseware for clinical accuracy while ensuring compliance with editorial guidelines and processes.

  • Collaborating with subject matter experts and reviewers to ensure that content is instructionally sound and current.

  • Onboarding and training subject matter experts who will be curating content and authoring assessments for EAQ and Sherpath products.

  • Collaborating with other content teams and colleagues to improve communication and overall knowledge of content and product offerings.


Requirements

  • Have experience with teaching and a passion for experimenting with emerging learning modalities in the field of nursing and healthcare education.

  • Be a licensed, board-certified RN, masters-trained, or equally degreed instructor with significant teaching experience.

  • Possess deep subject matter expertise in multiple nursing or healthcare education domains.

  • Have content authoring, editing and review experience with emphasis on assessment item content for Nursing disciplines

  • Demonstrate understanding of issues impacting the U.S. healthcare system and affecting the delivery of healthcare education.

  • Have an understanding and/or experience with concept-based curriculum (CBC) in an instructional setting.

  • Have experience with mapping of program outcomes to course outcomes, mapping of course outcomes to unit-level objectives as well as tagging to various classification systems including Bloom’s revised taxonomy.

  • Experience writing, implementing, and/or facilitating simulated clinical experiences (SCEs) for undergraduate students in a dedicated clinical simulation education setting.

  • Have working knowledge of key simulation debriefing methodologies.

  • Be able to perform web-based healthcare education research to identify emerging learning modalities and open educational resources (OER).
