Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of strategic and cost-efficient security solutions to strengthen the SOC's capability in detecting, analyzing, and resolving security incidents at scale. Utilize your extensive experience to design robust frameworks that enhance the organization's overall security posture.
  • Provide expert-level configuration and maintenance of the SIEM and log collections, demonstrating a deep understanding of the underlying technologies and their integration with the broader security ecosystem.
  • Spearhead the automation and orchestration efforts within the SOC, leveraging your in-depth expertise to optimize incident response workflows. Minimize the Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) and Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) by implementing cutting-edge automation techniques.
  • Apply your years of experience in security operations and incident response to tackle complex security issues efficiently. Mentor and guide junior team members in handling intricate security challenges.
  • Lead collaborative efforts with other teams and departments, driving security initiatives that align with the organization's overall strategy. Act as a subject matter expert, providing invaluable insights to support decision-making processes.
  • Share your wealth of security knowledge with technical and non-technical stakeholders, fostering a culture of continuous learning and promoting security awareness across the organization.
  • Oversee the creation and refinement of standard operating procedures and playbooks, ensuring they are in line with industry best practices and compliance standards.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, driving excellence in security operations and incident response.
  • Proven track record in security operations and incident response, showcasing expertise in dealing with diverse and complex security challenges.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SIEM and log management tools, such as Splunk, Elastic, Datadog, etc.
  • Expertise in security orchestration and automation, with a strong command of scripting languages like Python, Go, Bash, PowerShell, etc.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, and their security best practices to secure cloud-based solutions.
  • In-depth understanding of API technologies (REST, GraphQL, SOAP) to integrate security systems effectively.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks/guidelines like MITRE ATT&CK, NIST SP 800, Cyber Kill Chain, etc.
  • Experience in implementing security in DevOps pipelines and fostering a DevSecOps culture within the organization.

Preferred:

  • Proven ability to drive security innovation, staying ahead of emerging threats and technologies.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CISSP, CEH, GSEC, etc.
  • Previous experience in streamlining incident response processes to minimize MTTD and MTTR.
  • Knowledge of advanced threat-hunting methodologies to proactively detect and mitigate potential threats.
