Summary of This Role

As a Front End Developer focused on e-commerce, you will play a crucial role building user interfaces that drive engagement, conversion, and customer satisfaction on our platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver seamless and visually appealing shopping experiences that exceed customer expectations. 

In this role UI Developers bring visual elements and interactions to life that are intuitive, visually appealing, responsive, accessible, and contribute directly to the user’s experience.

UI Developers are expected to bring their intimate knowledge of cross-platform compatibility and performance optimization to improve our user’s access to our platform and their overall satisfaction with our products. What Part Will You Play?

• Develop and maintain front end code components for our e-commerce platform using HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

• Develop and Maintain front end code that is accessible to WCAG 2.2 AA

• Collaborate with UX/UI designers and product managers to translate concepts into intuitive and aesthetically pleasing user interfaces.

• Optimize website performance and responsiveness to enhance user experience across desktop, mobile, and tablet devices.

• Implement and enhance e-commerce features such as product catalogs, shopping carts, checkout processes, and user account management.

• Integrate front end code with back end systems, APIs, and third-party services to support e-commerce functionality.

• Work with UX Research to conduct A/B testing and analyze user feedback to continuously iterate and improve the usability and conversion rate of the platform.

• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in e-commerce, user experience, and front end development.

• Follow, contribute, and optimize Global Payments Design System, Index

• Will work on multiple critical project initiatives around the globe ensuring a unified experience for worldwide customers and business users ensuring taking into account regional requirements, culture and influences

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications

• 4+  years of software development experience, with an emphasis on modern frontend technologies (HTML/CSS/Angular/React/Vue, etc) and building delightful user interfaces with expertise in modern front end frameworks and libraries.

• Experience with e-commerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, or custom-built solutions.

• Experience with working in a cross functional team

• Collaboration and communication in this role is key. Candidates must be adept in engaging with designers, researchers, and other stakeholders in a cross-functional team

• Comfortable operating as a full-stack developer and owning projects end-to-end

• Familiarity with web performance optimization techniques and SEO best practices for e-commerce

• Understanding of accessible design and know how to ensure that websites and applications are accessible to all users, including those with disabilities, and following accessibility standards WCAG 2.2 AA  and best practices

• Are motivated to solve hard problems, and measure their success in terms of impact

• Experience building polished UIs with attention to detail, and a focus on concepts like accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design

• Understanding of common software project management and development practices in an agile environment

• Proactive, dynamic and open to feedback

Preferred Qualifications

Degree (MS/BA/BS) in Computer Science, Web Development, Interaction Design or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Proven experience in front end development, with a focus on e-commerce websites or applications.

• Expertise in NextJS, Directus CMS

• Ability to inspect files and have a knowledge of Figma

What Are Our Desired Skills and Capabilities?

• Experience with AngularJS and ReactJS

• Experience with responsive design and mobile optimization for e-commerce.

• Knowledge of accessibility standards and compliance requirements for e-commerce websites.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

• Understanding of conversion rate optimization (CRO) principles and techniques.

• Proficiency in front end testing frameworks such as Jest, Enzyme, or Cypress.

• Familiarity with Git, branching strategies

• Knowledge of Directus, StencilJS, Tailwind, Storybook, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines is a plus
