Job Description:

The Virtual Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the adherence of Electrical PLC and HMI standards across automated projects. The Virtual Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the virtual validation of PLC/HMI design within emulation/simulation environments. The Virtual Commissioning Engineer will collaborate with internal business partners, material-handling vendors, conveyor manufacturers, electrical control manufacturers and consultants to ensure compliance with UPS standards, and safety regulations. The Virtual Commissioning engineer will be responsible for working with internal and external partners to develop functional tests, workflows, and commissioning protocols.  This position can be filled by a 100% virtual remote employee.

Knowledge and Skills

• BS Electrical Engineering or equivalent in: Computer Science, Mechatronic Engineering, Automation Engineering

• 3+ years of experience as a Controls or Robotics engineer

• Exposure or experience with Tecnomatix Process Simulate, Emulate3D and/or WinMOD - Preferred

• Exposure or experience with 3D CAD design software

• Exposure or experience with computer programming languages, such as, C#, C++, Python

• Experience in facilitating design review meetings.

• Excellent written and oral communications, and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with both internal and external partners.

Responsibilities Include:

• Reviewing and interpreting technical documentation – PLC control systems, remote panels, wiring diagrams

• Collaborating Construction Companies (GC) to ensure safety/quality regulations are met.

• Supervise virtual commissioning sessions.
